The Build step in the creation process of a Carpet order (under Production orders in the SCHEDULING section) is used to add order lines or designs to the carpet order.
After reading the quickstart article, you might want to learn more. This article is the right place. It describes the features of each panel of the Build step in detail.
Path layout panel
This panel shows the paths and order items that they contain, along with helpful information to build your carpet order. Discover what information is revealed just by hovering the different elements.
The width as well as the length of order items is proportional, although there is a minimum height of each path visual.
- The + Auto fill button is available if the selected path is not full.
- You can quickly add a certain length of a design or jute via the
button.
- A vertical dashed line at the left side indicates the Minimum length.
- A red vertical dashed line indicates the Maximum length. It only appears if the maximum length is exceeded. Lower the number of pieces of the order item or replace a long order item by a shorter one.
- If path length is too short or too long, a warning is shown.
- Click an order item to open the Edit design dialog where you can adapt the number of Pieces or select another finishing.
- To see details about the Color set, click the color set bar.
- The color of an order item is its border color.
- Gaps between items represent jute.
- A design or jute that was quickly added via the
button is indicated like this.
- Buttons to move panels up and down in the path and to delete panels.
- Button to select a Path layout template. This divides the carpet order in a predefined set of paths. See Path layout templates for more information.
- Order items can be dragged to another location in the path or to another path of the same width. If it does not fit, a message is shown.
Path content panel
The Path content panel shows more information about the designs that are in the selected path. Like all tables, you can choose the columns that you need, sort and filter.
The designs are shown from top to bottom in the order of production. This corresponds with the designs in the path from left to right.
You can change the order with the drag handle or by selecting the order item and using the arrow buttons.
Selecting an order item also reveals a Edit button to edit the number of Pieces, or the Delete button to remove the order item from the path.
This panel can be hidden to have a wider Path layout panel via Path content panel the Settings button on top.
The View all settings button opens the Production order settings page.
Order lines/Designs panel
This panel initially list order lines. If order lines have been preselected (Preselection step), the panel only shows those order lines.
Views
Other views can be selected from drop down 1:
- Order lines: default view.
- Grouped order lines groups the order lines by Quality, Color set and width.
- Designs list shows all designs but no order line information.
- Grouped designs groups designs by Quality, Color set and Width.
- Grouped design thumbnails groups designs by Quality, Color set and Width, and show them with a thumbnail.
The Preselection step will show the same view that is selected here and vice versa.
Filtering
An order lines lists shows by default the order lines that are not yet completely planned and that can match with the selected machine. This is done with filters that are shown in blue above the table and in the filter row (2). The left side (3) shows the unfiltered number of Rows, the number Filtered rows and the number of rows Selected in the Preselection step.
To facilitate the selection of order lines, you can change the filters or add more filters, e.g. to only see the order lines with a particular width, simply type a value in the filter box of the Width column. Example:
After adding those order lines to paths, you can change the filter value to proceed, e.g. change the width.
A filter can be removed by clicking the x in its blue box. Clear all (4) removes all filters, including the default filters. To restore them, select another view in the drop down box.
Settings
Via the Settings button (5), you can select between seeing all items or only the preselected items, and in case of an order lines view, to see the order lines with incompatible color sets as well.
The View all settings button opens the Production order settings. See Carpet order custom settings.
The next step is the Verify step. See Carpet order verification & confirmation.
