Machine cards are shown in Plant view (section Monitoring)Connect comes with predefined machine card templates. Templates are defined for particular machines and different templates exist with particular report items to focus on. Different report items can be shown according the machine state (running, stopped), e.g. the run time while the machine is running and the stop time while it is stopped.


The predefined templates can be customized and new templates can be created from scratch or from a predefined template.

Settings

The templates can be customized per subscription via , View all settings and then the Templates tab. The settings dialog shows example machine cards, once for the running state (green) and once for the stopped state (red).



Grouping

In the top right corner, you can choose how the templates should be grouped:

Selection Templates:

  • Templates are grouped by template name.
  • The header of the example machine cards shows the machine type.
Selection Machine type:

  • Templates are grouped by machine type.
  • The header of the example machine cards shows the template name.


Searching a template

Use the Search box to find templates:

  • With the selection Machine type, it finds templates that have the entered text in the machine type, in the template name or in a report item that they contain.
  • With the selection Templates, it finds templates that have the entered text in the template name or in a report item that they contain. Text in the machine type is omitted.


Creating a template from scratch

  1. Click the Create new button .
  2. Enter a Name.



  3. Click Add report item group.
  4. Select one or more Machine types.



  5. Select the Report items to be shown. Only the report items that the selected machines have in common are shown.
    Use the Search box to find report items.



  6. Click Confirm selection. This shows an overview of the template: its Name, the selected machines and the selected report items.


    Here you can:
    1. Change the order of report items by dragging .
    2. Change the display Format.
    3. Select for which machine State the report item should not appear.
    4. To show the same report item once more, e.g. with a different Format, use the Duplicate button .
    5. Remove report items with the Delete button .
    6. Add or remove machine types with the button .
    7. Add machine types report items with the button . You can also remove report items via here.
    8. To preview the template, click . This shows a machine card for the selected machines and for the running and stopped state. Example:

  7. Click Save and close when done.


Editing a template

Do one of the following:


  • When viewing the templates by template name:
    1. Select a template name. This expands the selection and shows example cards for every machine type.
    2. Click the Edit button . This shows the same dialog as when creating a template. See above for instructions.

  • When viewing the templates by machine type:
    1. Click a machine type. This expands the selection and shows example cards for every template.
    2. Click a template. Note that both the running and stopped state example cards are selected.



    3. Click the Edit button . This shows the same dialog as when creating a template. See above for instructions.


Duplicating a template

Select a template and click the Duplicate button . This shows the same dialog as when creating a template. See above for instructions.
