Connect provides numerous data items, with a selection available for display in machine cards in the Plant view module (see Customizing machine cards). This selection can be viewed in the Report items module.


Only the report items that correspond with the machine types that are defined in your subscription are shown. A set of report items are available by default, more report items can be selected from the catalog and report items that you don't need can be removed.

Report items are grouped in categories. Some properties of report items can be customized.

The Report items module is available via the Settings button , under System settings.





Customize report items

You can review and customize the presentation of report items while maintaining consistency in how data is collected and processed across the MES.


To edit a report item, select it and click the Edit button .



Modifiable report items

These report item fields can be edited:


EnableWhen disabled, the report item is not available for use.
NameThe full display name of the report item.
AbbreviationA shortened label used in compact views or column headers.
UnitThe measurement unit used (e.g. s, kg, %).
DescriptionAn explanation of the report item’s purpose or meaning.


Additional units can be defined for each physical quantity, e.g. to convert metric to imperial units. To add units, either click the Physical quantity or the Unit. This opens the Physical quantities module. See Physical quantities.


Fixed report items

Each report item includes system-managed fields that determine how the item is processed and displayed:


CategoryGroups report items by functional area (see below).
ModuleIndicates the MES-module in which the data is collected or used (e.g. production, definition, resource, energy, monitoring).
Physical quantityClassifies the data type (e.g., time, speed, count, percentage).
FormattingDefines how the value is displayed (e.g. decimal places, percent formatting, date/time representation).
Period typeSpecifies how the data is aggregated (e.g. job-based, shift-based).
Sequence(is not yet used)
Defines which job or shift the report item refers to when the period type is job or shift:  0 = current, -1 = previous, -2 = two steps back, and so on.


Deleting and restoring report items

You can delete report items that are not needed. If you accidentally delete one, you can restore it from the catalog.


To delete report items:

  1. Select a report item.
  2. Click the Delete button .


To restore report items from the catalog:

  1. Click the Select from catalog button .
  2. Select an entire category or select individual report items.
  3. Click Confirm selection.
