The Filters pane at the right side of Reports in Trends & reports (section MONITORING) is a powerful feature that allows to apply filters to control the displayed data on all pages simultaneously. The Filters pane helps you to focus on specific aspects of your data by narrowing down the information based on various criteria.

This article explains:

  • The default filter
  • The available filters
  • How to set filters
  • The different filter types
  • How the filter pane can be shown

Default filter

By default, the data of the last week including today, of all machines of your subscription is shown. The filters apply to all pages. The active filters are highlighted. By clicking Reset filters, all filters are removed and the Date is set to the last month.

Visuals can also be filtered individually. See the article Data exploration, Filter (per visual) for more information.

Available filters

The reports can be filtered on following fields:

  • Date: Allows to select any date range and to include or exclude today.
  • Year: Calendar years.
  • Month: YYYY/MM.
  • Day: YYYY/MM/DD.
  • Shift in day: YYYY/MM/DD with shift name.
  • Kind: Machine kind.
  • Machine: Machine name.
  • Group: Machine group.

Setting filters

One or more filters can be active at the same time. A filter reduces the number of options for a next filter, e.g. if the Year filter selects a particular year, then the Month filter will only show the months of that year.

To set a filter:

  1. Click a field.
  2. Select a Filter type.
All filters have the filter types Basic filtering and Advanced filtering. The Date filter also has the filter types Relative date and Relative time.
Particular options appear according the selected type,
  3. Select or enter options.
  4. In case of Basic filtering, the filter is applied.
In case of other filter types, click Apply.

To clear a filter, click the Clear filter button .

Filter types

Three types of filters exist:

  • With a basic filter, you simply select the values you wish to see in the report.
  • With the advanced filter, you can use all kinds of comparisons in combination with logical operators.
  • Relative filtering is only available for the Date field and allows to filter data relative to now.

Basic filtering

Shows a list of values which is scrollable and searchable. Select one or more values to include in the report. To select most values, first select Select all, then clear values that you don't need.

Note: The description of the filter is shown on top.

Advanced filtering

Allows to create complex conditions to select values by using all kinds of comparisons (e.g. contains, starts with) and logical operators. Example: Show all Machines that start with 'WV' or with 'L'.

The Advanced filtering of the Date field allows to select any time period. Example: the first quarter of 2024 is selected.

Important: All fields are case sensitive.

Relative date and time

This filter type is only available for the Date field and shows data of:

  • A certain number of days, weeks, months or years relative to now. (left example)
  • A certain period from now to somewhere in the past. Today's data can be included. (right example)
