When an order is created the dents that are not used in paths are divided among REST or FREE zones as explained here:

Create production order

The division of this rest and free zones is done by the parameters you can select on the first screen of the production order. The remaining number of dents is defined by the number of machine dents - the number of dents of the paths.

These dents are first assigned to the free zones left of the first path (Left value; 14 in the screenshot below), right of the last path (Right value 7 in the screenshot below) and the in between all the paths (1 in the screenshot below).

When these dents are assigned to the free zones and there are still unassigned dents left, these will be assigned to the rest zone (which can be put Left, Right, Symmetrical or with a custom user defined definition)

When a production order is created, the suggestions to put the rest- and free zones is made as follows:

This plan

with settings in this example will result in

where 1. is taken from the setting free zone left, 2. is taken from the free zone in between, 3. is taken from the free zone right and 4 is the dents that are left if we count the dents from all free zones and paths (so we have 62 dents left without design). In the settings The rest zone has been put to the left side of the plan
