This information is required for Winder vibration form (under Trends & reports in the section MONITORING).
1. Introduction
This article guides you through the steps to set the winder in maintenance mode correctly and be able to perform the vibration measurements.
1.1 Safety
- Arrange clothing and hair so that they will not get caught in the machine's moving parts. Wear safety shoes.
- DO NOT touch rotating parts during operation.
- DO NOT touch the power switches on the control panel during normal operation.
- Confirm that the machine’s operating parts are stopped before connecting the power.
- Close all machine covers before operation.
- Start winding only when paper tubes are put onto the bobbin-holder.
1.2 Control switch panel
The control switch panel is located at the front of the winder and is used to operate the winder.

1.3 Winder powered on
Make sure pressured air and electrical power are available on the winder and emergency stops are lifted and acknowledged.
If all is well the winder should show no errors on the LED display, Manual turret PB LED and Winder stop PB LED are ON.

2. Preparing the winder
2.1 Homing turret-table
When the winder is powered on, the home position of the turret-table needs to be found.
Pressing Manual turret PB rotates the turret-table to the home position.

After the homing is done the Manual turret PB LED is OFF, Winder stop PB LED and Winder start PB LED are ON.

By pressing Manual turret PB again, the turret-table will rotate to the threading position.
The bobbin holder to be measured for vibrations, is the one on the bottom position.

2.2 Installing tubes
Make sure the bobbin holders have their tubes installed. This is important not to damage the chuck rings when running at high speed!
In order to install a tube, pressure must be built up inside the bobbin holder to be able to compress the springs.
Push the Tube PB on the control switch panel.

If the springs are compressed, the Tube PB LED is ON, and the tubes can be places over the bobbin holder.
Push again Tube PB to clamp the tube on the bobbin holder.

To perform vibration measurements, Vandewiele offers a calibrated and balanced aluminum tube to guarantee each measurement is performed with the same conditions.

3. Changing the speed
To change the speed of the bobbin holder shaft, the HMI or maintenance computer with the TMT winder software is required.
Open the WDC Property dialog by clicking this button on top.
Select the corresponding winder in the drop-down menu on the right of the screen.
